Advocacy Committee

Monitors policy issues, promotes legislative awareness, and supports advocacy efforts that strengthen rehabilitation services and the professionals who lead them.

Subgroup within MAMPRA who’s charge is Advancing Access and Excellence in Medical Rehabilitation. In medical rehabilitation, the focus is on working to restore function, renew independence, strengthen families, and support return to community participation following illness, injury, or complex medical conditions. Our advocacy group exists to ensure that every individual who needs rehabilitation services has timely access to and financial coverage of high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum.

We are a coalition of rehabilitation professionals, healthcare leaders, community partners, and patient advocates committed to strengthening the field of medical rehabilitation. Our members represent disciplines including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, nursing, physiatry, case management, social work, psychology, and healthcare administration. Together, we champion policies and practices that support excellence in care delivery, interdisciplinary collaboration, and sustainable rehabilitation services.
